As the saying goes ‘Abinibi yato si ability’, for those who know; music runs in the blood and a rare form of music ingenuity runs in the blood of this artiste. His name is Olusola Ogunrinde, he hails from Osun state and was raised in Nigeria before he moved to the United Kingdom. His stage name is Material Elegbeje-Ado.

The rendition of ‘Material’ when used as an adjective qualifies him as someone of substantial import, pertinent or essential. So what makes him that important in the music industry? Elegbeje ado explains it, a Yoruba word which he uses in a metaphorical sense to qualify his ability as a muti-talented artiste that can do anything practicable with a beat you just name it. His unique style of delivery blends and cuts across all forms of music genre known in Nigeria.

He has been a lover of music from a young age, being influenced by indigenous Nigerian music ranging from Fuji to Apala and Highlife and western influence in terms of hip hop and rap music. No wonder critics have admittedly tagged him ‘the one’, because of his versatility and ability to blend different forms of genres and deliver them in one pure form.

His recent DJ drop titled ‘Eyato Joo’ for the coalition of Nigerian DJs ironically befits him because he is different. He owns ‘Matuwo Records’ a label he claims is buried in the deepest abyss of knowledge. The promo tracks ‘Ma Memu’ and ‘Mofe Club Mix’ are taken from his album titled ‘…In my Blood – Rare music genotype’. He is a rare music genotype indeed…and he is MATERIAL ELEGBEJE ADO!
