Where she has been hiding until now is something that evades my imagination as a music collector. Believe me when I say, I am still trying to figure out how she effortlessly evoke the spirit of the dead old man “Fela Anikulapo Kuti” while injecting her uniqueness into the veins of her listeners. It is evident that the Lagos bred, born to a Rastafarian father and a liberal mother pays a close attention to her surroundings.
This is a well served bitter truth cocktail with a clear message to The Republic (Nigeria and Nigerians) on how corruption, prostitution, crime and injustice has been our habitual and the message came with a tag “Save Our Soul”. She challenged us as a nation to stop blaming colonization for our shortcomings and accept that the happenings are consequences of our bad decisions. As you listen to the track you absorb the messages like a sponge and in 3 words the track is impudent, thought-provoking, and enlightening.
Become her fan on facebook and let’s keep the movement in motion.
